on kodi Login menu, Kodibuntu doesn't appear
#1
Hello,
I perfomed a fresh installation in order to change my previous version xbmcbuntu 12.1 to KodiBuntu 32bit.iso . The setup has been made by usb boot key and everithing was fine (only a little problem of 32bit AMD driver and kernel that has been solved with your cristal support) !

So, I would like to switch from kodi to kodibuntu/ubuntu but i noticed that I'm able to exit from kodi and I see new login form, but I diden't see the menu with kodibuntu login. I dont' know if is foressen on new installation or it is a bug of my installation.
Can i verify what happened with your help, I' m not a linux pro user I know only some command on terminal, I can enter in this installation only by ssh.

Thanks for your support

Jonatan

click the wrench icon top right, select kodibuntu. Then enter your password and click login.

Hello wsnipex, thank for your quick support.
I don't see the wrench icon on my kodi, usually i logout kodi by the icon on left down corner, and the menu for login appears.

What it is happened ?

Thanks David for the screenshoots, now i understood, but this icon is out of my screen LG47" for this reason i can't see it.
I 'm able to enter in Lubuntu i changed the screen resolution, lubuntu is vilsualized right, but when came back on Login page the resulution can't permit me a right visulaization of wrench icon on right top corner.

Wich parameter needs to be change in order to resize this screen login?

So I had the overscan issue on an older LCD tv that didn't have the option to turn off overscan, it took a full day of playing with it but here is how I fixed the main screen so i can now see the task bar:

once powered up and on the main desktop
press alt+f1to bring up the "start" menu
go to system tools
open xterm
type in the following command:
sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
add this to the bottom:
display-setup-script=xrandr --output HDMI1 --transform 1.05,0,-35,0,1.05,-19,0,0,1
press control x, save the file
type in the following command:
xrandr --output HDMI1 --transform 1.05,0,-35,0,1.05,-19,0,0,1
immediately right click on the now present task bar in the middle and choose panel settings
change the edge position to top

Fixed. For whatever reason you can't leave it on the bottom or it will disappear on the first mouse click.
