I think it maybe your files. How are they named? In library view, all my shows are listed properly when the Sort by; Episode is active. They also are listed properly when the Sort by: Name is active. When sorting by Episode it also shows the episode number in the name if you are using Sort by; Episode. I do not see this in your screenshot.

I format all my files using FileBot, so they look like this "Game of Thrones - 1x01 - Winter is Coming.mkv"
It is funny, I installed Kodi 14.0 on a separate folder. If I open my library with 14.0, the files are correctly sorted and the episode number shows before the episode name, if I use 14.1, it looks like in the screenshot.

Oh silly me, after changing to "sort by, episode" everything is back to normal... I guess I don't use the left menu that much...
