How to increase storage partition
#1
I have cloned an 8GB USB flash drive on an external 500GB USB HDD drive.
In Kodi system settings the STORAGE partition size is still 8GB.
How can it be increased to use the entire HDD capacity ?
Can this be done from a Windows PC ?

depends on which filesystem and OS you use. Windows doesn't deal with linux FS.

Under linux, you can use (g)parted to resize.

I read it was suggested to SSH into OE and issue following commands:

touch /storage/.please_resize_me
reboot

Is that going to do it ?

probably only if OpenElec is installed on that same drive.

I only have a single drive.
But anyway, it didn't work. After re-boot the Storage mount point wasn't there anymore.

Guess I will try Gparted next.

Try this program for Windows:

http://www.minitool.com/partition-manage...-home.html

It works for Linux and Windows Partitions. Well it worked for me anyway.

Give it a try and see how you go.

They also have a Live CD ISO you can boot from:

http://www.minitool.com/partition-manage...table.html

See how you go.
