[Solved] HD Audio
#1
I have an on going problem with Kodi/OpenElec that has been bothering me for a while and I am now trying to figure it out. My issue is when my surround receiver is shut off and the Kodi computer is still on I loose the ability to play HD audio unless I either reboot the computer or disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable between the computer and receiver.

The way I have Kodi setup to reproduce this is I have Kodi set to blank my TV after a set time. Once the screen goes blank the timer on my TV kicks in and will shut off the TV after a few minuets since it is seeing no signal. I have my HDMI setup so that when the TV gets shut off the surround receiver gets shut off as well. The Kodi computer is still on during all of this since it is my main one that is used add new media to the server.

One of the things I have noticed was that the name of my HDMI for the audio devices changes as you can see in the pictures.

Here is the log http://pastebin.com/zEkD85J9

I also have a post on the OpenElec site to see if I can help there as well.

Hardcode your EDID, the OpenELEC wiki has everything you need to do so: http://openelec.tv/forum/68-audio/61795-...d-on#69329

nvidia-xconfig is now part of the distribution, so you don't need to download that.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

you can easily verify, your OE should boot up with AVR off and even TV off.
