And even in the cinema I find my brain tends to register the 3D picture as a 2D viewing experience anyway - after a period of time once the initial WOW factor subsides.

VR, totally immersive 3D, now that would be something.

Your statement is about right, i remember buying the First Samsung 3DTV and spending $200 plus for the 3D glasses, watch a few time in 3D,then i stop using the 3D feature.it is not enjoyable in an open living space.

Now that i have 3D Projector and 124'' screen, i can't stop watching 3D and love it.

+1
My opinion is that if you bring a box and pronounce it to bring the best movie experience, people may expect that it plays 3d
Cause some people dont care about 3d , doesnt mean other people that do, shouldnt be able to play it.
Especially if you shout from high towers, its brings total movie experience

(and isnt cheap at all)
Ok so Im a little confused with the HD audio support from the comments in here. So through hdmi will this now pass it to the receiver?

Short answer, not yet.

Only refreshrate will get a fix for 15.2 and 16.0 nightlies.
Passthrough is still WIP

Does this mean after OTA 2, 23.976 fps will start working already on 15.2 and up? or it still need some change in Kodi?

Maybe yours only has a couple of them

Can the release source code from Zidoo help Kodi to play 3D.ISO in the shield?

The accuracy of the fractional refresh rates are outstanding! 29.97 is not needed because you'd use 59.94 instead, and the GUI/OSD would be smoother. To bad the industry didn't implement a standard for 2x23.976/24, which would be great for the hobbit and future hifps movies.

That is his TVs EDID that Kodi is reporting. nVIDIA SATV's refresh rates are not even accurate for 24/25/50/60 Hz. All of them have offset. Will see tomorrow how close 23.976, 59.940 are.
