That's just the SoC specs. Tegra X1 can also decode MVC.
The whole software stack (kernel-decoders-renderers) must also support 3D before you see it on your TV...

I was hoping Google's foray into VR may at least get them to add frame packed support into Android. I'm not very optimistic for that though.

Edit: While I agree with Koying about it not being a given it will be supported (Sony's 2nd gen Google tv box had MVC in the specs) the Mi's spec page doesn't list MPEG2 or VC1 and I would be shocked if the hardware can't decode those. They are just choosing not to license them, which is silly in regards to MPEG2 as they won't be able to support LiveTV. Side question, doesn't the patent on MPEG2 expire this year? I feel like I read that somewhere a year ago.
