Release iPlayer plugin v2.7.1 (new thread)
#16
Catchup and Live working here (London, UK). Default iPlayer settings. Still on 2.6.10 however, just haven't bothered updating. Tested on OpenELEC/x64/Kodi 15.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Thank you Milhouse,
i think its to do with my smart DNS.
Live plays perfectly.
I tried rolling back to 2.6.10.
I have emailed support.

They both work using Kodi on my MacBook Pro.

The new plugin 2.7.1 lists a good selection of archive media but unfortunately non of them play.
The Live section however is working fast and responsively.

I'm getting the opposite of this, archive streams ok, live gives me a "can't locate any usable streams" error. This is trying to use the radio, not the tv.
Running on OSMC on a raspberry pi.

Edit: Today it's fine.

The above is on a my Linux Mint Laptop with Kodi installed.
Howevever on my Kodibuntu install, it mostly works

I have had issues with the BBC iPlayer generally in the past couple of days. Constantly dropping streams on my Chromecast, buffering on the web player and timed out streams when using get_iPlayer. The only iplayer client that has worked properly is the Kodi plugin. Great work.

I think that the BBC iPlayer is becoming a victim of it's own success. At key times it appears to be totally overloaded.
HTPCs: 2 x Chromecast with Google TV
Audio: Pioneer VSX-819HK & S-HS 100 5.1 Speakers
Server: HP Compaq Pro 6300, 4GB RAM, 8.75TB, Bodhi Linux 5.x, NFS, MySQL

I've installed 2.7.1 on several installations with different configurations but all on Kodi 14.0 or 14.1
The live streams seem to work most of the time (subject to network loading ...), but catchup for radio seems to give odd results.
Trying radio 4x, I note that I get a list of programmes, which might be playable, but the list always seems to be the same, and has not recent items on it. I've been in the habit of using this to get episodes of various serials which are currently being repeated from some years ago. I can get to these on a desktop PC through iPlayer - so they are there somewhere.

Are you in the UK? And if so is your ISP Virgin Media?
I've noticed buffering at times on Iplayer with my 152 meg VM connection (Sundays being particularly bad) but if I fire up my VPN and connect to a UK server the issue disappears even though I'm getting a far slower connection through it,
it seems to me there's some routing or overloading issue within the VM network and Iplayer

None of my streams working today - the following error from the log seems pertinent:

Code:
ERROR: Unable to load librtmp.so.1, reason: librtmp

The message about librtmp not being found is quite correct - I have librtmp.so.0 but not librtmp.so.1

My installation is as follows:

@exobuzz The icon needs changing for one with a solid background as per the rules.

Here's the one I was using -

Created a symlink to librtmp.so.0 and now everything works fine - not sure what the root of the problem was, though.

Thanks Hitcher - I have included the icon. If you have any further icon improvements please open a ticket over at the github site, as a forum thread is not the best place for tracking improvements. cheers.

Exobuzz ! Can you look at the separate cbbc iplayer ----->http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/cbbc. Seems to have more shows/ epiosdes .. could this be incorporated into the addon or will it require new & separate addon ?

Am I being dense in asking how do you find / play other episodes of a programme?

I'm searching for banished, and the search results give me episode 6, but I want to watch episode 5 --which is on the app/web iplayer.

Not sure what you mean by creating a symlink to librtmp.so.0.Can you explain please?
My Ubuntu version is 14.10, with Kodi 14.2.
Having a similar problem with both iplayer and ITV player.
My version librtmp.so.1, updated this to the latest librtmp from red penguin which had an 0 not a 1 and just changed it to a 1. Worked for a while but not any more.
Seems to indicate I'm geoblocked now, but my smart DNS still works on other devices, laptop's and Android with no problems.
