Is it 10 posts that gives chat privileges?

We know it worked on Win 7 when you originally posted it, so what changed and why only programs that are part of a series and not the others.  I don't have two clues about this stuff but it almost sounds like a directory issue but that doesn't explain why it still works for you.

Also to make sure we are on the same page, as this thread got confusing talking about two different addons (4.0.1 and 5.0.0), is all that is required for 5.0.0 are the two files?  There doesn't need to be a replacement of the default.py or scraper.py?  Do I have that right?

Not really.  The 'files' I've been referring to are zip archives, so they have multiple files and directories compressed into each.  I'll try to refer to my zip archive files as 'zip files' from now on.  Once unzipped onto one's machine, the main nuts and bolts are in two files:
scraper.py (found at .kodi/addons/plugin.video.tvo/resources/lib/scraper.py on my machine)
t1mlib.py (found at .kodi/addons/script.module.t1mlib/lib/t1mlib.py on my machine)
Once unzipped (by using 'Install from zip file'), newly unzipped files will overwrite any existing files with the same name, like the ones you mentioned: default.py and scraper.py.  So releasing zip files will be the path I take as it should be the easiest and lead to the least confusion.

Yes, it is interesting that everything works on my machine but only some of it works on yours.  And sometimes it works on your first attempt but not on the second.  And that it all initially worked a year or so ago when I first released my zip files.

Yes, two zip files is what I mean to say.  The crux for me is why do shows that are not part of a (Series) work and those that are don't.

Can someone please take a minute and install these two zip archives (by using 'Install from zip file') and report back.

Please try to play a program that is marked as part of a (Series) and repeat a few times to see if it actually works.  Individual programs should work, those marked (Series) should not.

Thanks

To add additional info, the TVO addon stopped working properly around the time I updated Kodi to 20.2.

Just to test if that had anything to do with the addon, I installed 20.0 on another Windows PC.  Nothing changed, still gives error and won't open videos that are marked as part of a series

@ertyertyerty

Just wondering if you've had a chance to look at this lately.  I've replaced my hard drive and loaded Windows 10 (from Win 7) and reloaded TVO 5.0.0.

Still getting the same can't play any video that is part of a series or The Agenda with Steve Paikin (the network's main series)

I've been a bit busy, but the bigger obstacle is that I can't reproduce the issue yet.  The add-on still works for me.  So I admit I'm reluctant to take it on, knowing it may be a slow and frustrating experience.  I will give it another go though.

@ertyertyerty

Thanks for replying.  Hope it can be fixed as this is a popular, wanted addon (as evidenced by when the first TVO addon came out)

I wish somebody out there would try it to help confirm it isn't just me and maybe they could impart some more wisdom than I can to the issue.

Can someone please take a minute and install these two zip archives (by using 'Install from zip file') and report back.  Remember the issue is programs that are part of a series will not play, they might the first time but after that no, so you have to check each show a few times to make sure..  Individual programs that are not part of a series will play as normal.

ertyertyerty, were you able to see and confirm the issue from my log.  I realize your setup is working fine.

Thanks

Happens to me sometimes but always works fine on my second attempt.

@Eye in the sky

Thanks for responding.  What are you using?  I am using Win 7/10/Kodi 20.5/TVO 5.0.0

Just want to confirm you are using this version of the TVO addon (5.0.0) and not the other one in this thread. Are you clicking and checking multiple times on shows marked as part of a series and not individual programs (that do work)

Here's what I did:
I opened the TVO addon and went to Current Affairs.
I went to First Contact (Series)
Clicked on The Journey Begins (it played)
When I closed it, I got the TVO Check the log error
When I go back to Current Affairs-First Contact (Series)-The Journey Begins, I get the Check the log Error
Now all shows marked as (Series) get the Check the Log error until the addon is closed and restarted

I did some more testing with TVO 5.0.0 and was able to reproduce the issue on Windows 11 Kodi Omega.

Add-on is still working fine on Windows 10 with Kodi Omega installed.

Debug Log
It stopped working for me on both Windows 7 and 10 using Kodi 20.3 and Kodi 20.5
I've just installed Kodi 21.0
Issue is still there using Windows 10/TVO 5.0.0/Kodi 21.0

I think I'm going to regret jumping in.

I can reproduce the issue if I go:
  1. Current Affairs
  2. Ms Represented
  3. ...
  4. Ms Represented

And I get TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable ... the weird thing is, the issue is on datetime (its actually null). As far as I can tell and it happens on the second time (like this: https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/101026), which is why we need to go backwards with ...

Good luck kids!

Seems we're not the only ones to be affected => https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid3163274

Also https://kodi.wiki/view/Python_Problems#d...e.strptime

I thought we fixed this when we moved to python3 but I guess not.
