Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows
Does anyone know how to correctly set black levels in DSPlayer? I can change the to limited range (16-235) in Kodi's settings but this only applies to the GUI, not video output. MadVR doesn't seem to have any settings related to this. If I play videos using MPC-HC + MadVR they look fine. If I play videos in MediaPortal they look fine. If I play videos in Kodi + DSPlayer + MadVR, I get black crush. nVidia Control Panel is set to use 16-235.

madVR does have settings for output color range, but if you're setting your GPU to output limited, you want to set your apps to output full. This way the GPU does the conversion properly (and is also probably why your MPC-HC output looks correct).

Go look at Warner306's how-to, it's all in there. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=259188

why doesnt brightness and contrast do anything, is this because its set to use external MADVR filter profile?, if so if I set it to store and use local settings it still doesnt work?

madVR, Kodi, Kodi DSPlayer and MPC-HC , It is best handled by drivers Nvidia and / or ATI / AMD ?

AMD and Nvidia are probably equal in madVR performance. Maybe AMD has more problems with drivers, but I don't think it matters.

I asked this because some parties supported the improved management of AMD's driver level Video for madVR, particularly in the context of the bug of 23.976 Nvidia drivers, in fact 23.971 Hz. Is the current output resolution (Ctrl + J)

The GPU settings for brightness and contrast are likely ignored by madVR as the video driver treats madVR like a video game. The best way to adjust these settings is with your display controls. madVR also has settings for contrast and brightness, but I would only use them as a last resort.

Is there a way to prevent AAC audio from displaying as 0x4441 in the OSD? It disables the icons when viewing video info as well for some reason. Not a huge deal, but it doesnt look clean.

It shows before I play the video: https://gyazo.com/e6580e952cab93fec80484d0d1a89099

But once it starts: https://gyazo.com/419e14f52ed0e15307d5669482bdee76

What 23.976 bug are you referring to?
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

No, this would require recoding some of the original code for the player. The last developer didn't want to touch this. And there is no current developer.

Here

Anyway, 23.971 Hz. Is the current output resolution for sources rip BluRay.

Bummer. Thanks, though.

I get ~23.97625 with Nvidia (GTX 960, latest drivers) using a custom resolution. I'm using Reclock too and to me the results are "perfect".

i've been having trouble with this since day one, I thought it might be a skin problem but i've ruled it out. KODI will either freeze while closing and then hang around in task manager for a few mins before closing or just completely hang on shutdown forcing me to reboot.

I've tried a clean install, no additional addons apart from titan skin.

kodi.exe has full admin and user permissions / security

any ideas, if I cant fix this i'll have to go back to standard kodi, not looking forward to that at all, once you get used to using madvr and kodi there is no going back...

With custom resolutions I get 23.97589 which is quite close to the ideal 23.97602, we're talking about a 0.000005% difference, if I'm not mistaken... Slightly less than one frame repeated/missed (never understood the logic behind this choice) every two hours.
I use Reclock too and never get missed or repeated frames.

Regular Kodi doesn't do this? Closing of Kodi should be the same across versions.
