The reason I'm curious is because when I have those files closely to 1080p it actually uses all my other settings for these files except the dxva2 so it seems to recognize the files as 1080p profile and all other 720p files it plays the profile I have setup in Kodi for that.

Only the width is important. A Blu-ray is always 1920 in width, but its height can vary. As stated, a proper 1080p rip only requires chroma upscaling to match the resolution of the luma layer. If image scaling is applied, both chroma and luma are being scaled to 1080p. A 1080p rip comes with the luma already scaled to the target.

I reverted to madVR profile rules to handle 1080p rips that were not rendering to the target rectangle. This would cause a load on the GPU that would lead to presentation glitches. So I have a profile for 720p content, one for rips in between and one for native 1080p content that matches the target rectangle.
Thanks for the information Warner. Are these profiles you mention here defined in the fine guide you have made?
Are people just upgrading to Isengaard Beta without completely reinstall Kodi?

No, my profiles are not defined in the guide. But there is a link in one of the last sections to the Doom9 forum describing these rules.

And, yes you can install the Isengard beta without uninstalling Helix.
