When playing 720p and 1080p videos there is no dropped, delayed frames. But when i try to play a 4k movie (10bit HEVC x265). I have like 500 dropped frames in 30 secs and cpu usage is 100% on all cores. Ive tried with different settings but without succses. So what settings should i use for 4k movies?
My current settings for 1080p and 720p videos:
Chroma upscaling: nnedi3 (32neurons) anti-ringing filter ON
Image upscaling: DXVA2
Image downscaling: DXVA2
Double luma: NNEDI3 (32 neurons)
Smooth motion: OFF
Dithering: Error diffusion option 2
My PC:
Motherboard: M5a97 le r2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6200 clocked @4.42Ghz
GPU: GTX 970 4GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
TV: Samsung 65" UE65JS8500
4K videos only require chroma upscaling.
Are you sure your CPU is powerful enough to decode the video? 4K HEVC needs a very fast CPU. And yes DSPlayer can play these videos. The GTX 970 won't hardware decode, though, so software is being used.
Change chroma upscaling to super-xbr or Jinc.
