Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows

Also what settings are the best for madVR and senaer please?

Final question,  has anyone tried Kodi with MPC and Madvr rather than DSPlayer? What are the benefits if any or is DsPlayer the king when it comes to it? Thank you.
It depends on how you plan to have sound played back. If you connect to an AVR (amplifier, receiver) capable of decoding multichannel codecs, you can use Sanear in WASAPI mode and enable bitstreaming.

Reclock is not "better" than Sanear. Reclock simply does more things. Things that were considered crucial until we (the community I mean) discovered that it was possible, using madVR stats, to create custom resolutions that made these extra things redundant.
Reclock can adapt the audio to your video reproduction speed. There are two clocks involved, the video clock and the audio clock. If they are not perfectly in sync you get dropped or duplicated frames every xx interval of time (depending on how out of sync they are). If you read the link I provided, you can see that madVR now offers the opportunity to create custom resolutions that take into account this and lead you to perfectly smooth playback with no need to resample (adapt) audio. When used for this, with no "special" custom resolutions, Reclock slightly changes your audio. Which is something purists frown upon (it's honestly no big deal, but everybody has the right to enjoy movies however he wants).

You can refer to the above link for details on madVR custom resolutions, you can read this guide for DSPlayer configuration (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222576), you can check this other guide to understand all of madVR options (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=171787). Sanear has few options, it should be easy.

As far as differences between DSPlayer and using MPC-HC as an external player, with DSPlayer you get full integration with Kodi. You can use many plugins directly (for me the most important one is the subtitles one, being able to download subtitles on the fly through my remote, when needed). If you are curious about that road, you can check this guide: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=259188

Happy configuration! Smile

Thank you very much for all your help and advice.

Last night I discovered something.. You know I was saying that you can't play .iso and .bdmv files with DSPlayer? Well this is not true.. I have it working but you have to trick the system.
So here is what you do. First you find the movie in kodi, then you press the C key to bring up the options and you choose the internal Kodi video player to play the file. Once you have pressed play, skip a couple of chapters then stop the movie. Then when you click on the movie to play again it will ask if you want to resume or play from beggining.. If you choose the "resume movie" option it will then open it with DSPlayer with madVR and sanear all working and you can confirm this by pressing the O key on your keyboard : )

I hope this helps people and I hope that a proper solution can be found to fix this which will fully complete this beautiful piece of art..Thank you to the creators again Smile

the question I have is, why would you want to use that outdated filter?

What is your use case for needing it?

Nowadays you really should avoid codec packs, they are kind of useless and potentially mess up your system. madVR, Sanear, LAVfilters, xySubs/vsFilter. You rarely need anything else.

How have you setup Filters in Settings/Player/DSPlayer? If you select "Internal", your codec pack installation should not have messed up stuff.

Guys, quick question do you reccomend using Sanear for Bitstreaming or ReClock? I know reclock is old but it has WASAPI EXCLUSIVE and apparently you can select it to bitstream at 192k so would appreciate your advice to which is the best to use for DSPlayer , many thanks

Hi! After the last update (maybe it's just a coincidence) I have a problem: Kodi takes A LOT to exit when I want to close it. It's really slow.

Here is my pastebin

https://pastebin.com/JiEeuSvY

I tried to check it by myself but looks like I don't have enough knowledge to identify the problem, can anybody help me? BTW I guess the problem starts at line 2779 or later....

Thanks

If you are comfortable with the idea of testing, LAV Filters and madVR offer slightly better performance in their 64 bit versions. You don't gain extra functionality, just a bit of performance, as far as I know.

On the other hand, aracnoz clearly labels the 64 bit version as experimental soooo... it's up to you. Smile
