Low and behold I found this and am currently struggling to get it to work perfectly. Anyways, I have a Asus Xonar U5 USB external sound card along with a set of Logitech z506 speakers. Normal 5.1 films sound perfect however I would like to have a virtual surround sound for the stereo sources I play (Twitch.tv + Plex).Unless I'm mistaken, the Mixing panel only works for downmixing, not upmixing, in LAVfilters.
Currently I'm using LAV and the latest 32bit version of kodi with dsplayer.

So from the last image you can see that whilst it detects that it is being sent out as 6 channel it's only giving me left and right audio with zero input for the other channels..
Any help here, please?
Perhaps you could suggest another method of which I could achieve this simulated 5.1 surround throughout stereo sources? I recently had found the Audio DSP add-on which had the "free-surround" option that was perfect but is very unstable and wouldn't allow for a video to be forward seeked or it would crash when selecting another video. Quite a pity, really.
Purchasing a receiver, to my current knowledge, isn't an option due to the PC speakers I use.
