I dont want to get into a flame war AMD vs NVIDIA though BRAZEN1 - AMD is just easier to setup and is more stable at the moment generally, that may change but NVIDIA has always had issues with 3D and has never had 23,976 native so its never been the best pure HTPC card for general HTPC users.

 It's been easier to setup for you. Nothing more. Also, as far as 23,976 "native" refresh is concerned, it makes no sense whatsoever. You not necessarily aim for 23,976 for smooth playback, as you need to take into consideration the audio clock.

most general users, myself included will be aiming for 23,976 and AMD cards have the easiest route to this, and 3D playback. I feel AMD does the basics better, NVIDIA has more grunt for high end users who need more tools to throw at playback.
