well the NVIDIA beat both the RX cards, on the same settings rendering times were as follows. RX 550 (2gb) 33ms, NVIDIA 1050 (2gb) 18 ms, RX 460 24ms.
just a shame about the 3D issues, i'd defo move to NVIDIA if this got solved once and for all, without having to faff.
