So The issue I was having was in the video decoder in Kodi DS Player and MadVR I have the "Hardware Decoder to Use" as D3D11 selected but had the "Device to Use" as the Radeon RX560.. However when I changed the "Device to Use" to Automatic (Native) the playback was smooth and rendering is around 16ms for 4K H265 movies.

This was with HDMI plugged straight from the card to my 4K Sony TV and HDR was automatically detected. However when I plug it into my Projector (JVC x5900) via my Anthem AVM60 the playback is again smooth but it isn't automatically switching the picture mode to HDR.. It's showing the picture setting at natural and the video is still 8bit rather than 10bit in the JVC info panel when I hit the info button.

Also sometimes when I stop playback sometime I just get "No Signal" displayed on my Anthem and no picture on the JVC.. I am not sure if this is an issue with the motherboard and GPU. My GPU is RX 560 4GB DDR5 PCI-E 3rd gen whilst my motherboard is a LGA1156 with an intel i3 PCI-E x16 slot but Gen1 so technically the card is running in a Gen 1 mode I guess. If this is the case I may need to buy a new motherboard, a new i3 or i5 or i7? and new DDR4 ram along with a new PSU as my current PSU is 300w...

OR it just may be a case that my PSU is not powerfull enough? I would really appreciate the help if you can please. Thank you ..

Edit: My CPU load is around 20-30% so nothing major at all when playing 4K movies.. Also Ram is around 55% .. I have 4GB DDR3 ram..
Copy-back failing may mean your system doesn't have enough RAM (not VRAM, but system RAM), as that's how copy-back works. This decoder is new, so this could be a bug. With that said, just use native mode. There is no downside to doing this. This has nothing to do with madVR. This is a problem with LAV Video. I don't understand why your decoder queue was full, but that's where it was failing. Again, video decoding has nothing to do with madVR processing. You are not missing anything in madVR. This is all about LAV Video. LAV Video decodes the video BEFORE it gets to madVR. Regular copy-back may work for you, but you may run into same problem. Use D3D11 native. Problem solved.

You should leave chroma upscaling at NGU low or medium, as your rendering times were still under 41ms. The quality will be higher. Start with low and work up to medium. You could even use debanding at low if you have extra resources.

Lastly, the issue you are having with your receiver would have nothing to do with your CPU or motherboard. You have already proved this works by hooking it up directly to your television. The Anthem AVM60 or the projector is not calibrated correctly to pass 10-bit HDR signals. Does it even support this kind of passthrough? That could be the bigger problem. If you have two HDMI outputs, one can go to your projector for the video and the other to the receiver for the audio. You need to find out if your receiver supports HDR passthrough and if your projector is set up correctly. I don't think this is an issue with your PC.

I hope this helps clear things up.
Thank you so much .. this does clear things up and helps.. I have 4GB DDR3 RAM which I thought was enough, however as you say it may be a bug for the H265 codec...

I have MadVR and Kodi DS Player downloaded and installed, do I need to install LAV Filters as a standalone as well or is the filters in Kodi DSPlayer sufficient?

I will change my Chroma Upscaling to NGU low as you say and leave the rest as "Let MadVR decide".. What shall I be looking to target my rendering for? I mean what is the cut off line? currently with NGU low its around 28-33ms...

The Anthem AVM60 does support 4K HDR pass through but I need to see what the issue is.. Do you think it may be my GPU being underpowered by the PSU ? I have 300w PSU but in my computer I am only powering my motherboard 1 x 120gb SSD and the GPU as all my movies are being streamed through a gigabit lan server .. The server is based in another room with all the movies on. Do you think if I get a 600w PSU this may solve some issues or would it not make any difference? Thanks

Edit: Not sure if this will make any difference but I am using Windows 10 64BIT but the DSPlayer I am using is 32bit version.. Thanks
You are already using LAV Filters as they come installed with DSPlayer.

Leave chroma upscaling at NGU low. You are approaching the limits of your card. Consider making some profiles for scaling. There are some in my set up guide.

I have no idea why you would blame your GPU. Based on your madVR settings, it is performing as I would expect.

Try connecting directly to your projector to see if it engages HDR mode. Do you have any other UHD Blu-ray player to test the HDR mode of your projector? If that works, go back to receiver and start searching through its manual and its menus. It is likely your projector or your receiver that is at fault.

I assume your files are making it to Kodi from your server (they are playing smoothly without issue)?

And using 32-bit Kodi with 64-bit Windows is no problem.
