Like I said, previously under regular Kodi, I just enabled bitstreaming everything, and kodi (which was set to 'best match' in the audio settings) sent everything to my receiver, which then recognized it as either Dolby Digital or DTS depending on the file. No additional configuration necessary.(2018-08-12, 15:55)djcorvus Wrote:You need a filter to convert TrueHD to Dolby Digital. There is no DD core in TrueHD. If you uncheck the bitstream option, it is sent a multichannel PCM. I would think that AC3Filter might do the job, but it might not. Did you add it as an extra filter in DSPlayer and assign it as an audio filter? LAV Filters has mixing options for PCM sources that could be worth trying. It would make more sense to preserve the Dolby Digital track with the rip and select it.(2017-02-16, 17:18)ryu87 Wrote:
Yes, I added AC3filter as an extra filter in DSPlayer and assigned it. Didn't do anything. In fact it made things worse because now it sends EVERYTHING as PCM and therefore my receiver plays it as stereo.
I don't rip my own files, so I don't have the luxury of preserving anything. If I play something that only has a TrueHD audio track, then I'm doomed to listen to it in stereo.
Surely it can't be that hard to get it to downmix TrueHD to DD and have it bitstreamed to my receiver? Regular Kodi was doing this flawlessly over bitstream, so I know it's at least possible.
