I don't know if anyone has mentioned the listed upgrades to VideoPlayer for Windows v18. For those who are curious, there is now 3D LUT support, experimental support for 10-bit passthrough via AdvancedSettings.xml and dithering for the conversion from 16-235 to 0-255. There was also a commit to the main branch a long time ago to improve the accuracy of the conversion to sRGB. I don't know if this commit impacts Windows.
You would probably have to use Pixel Shader rather than DXVA rendering to benefit from any of this. Most here might not be swayed to go back to VideoPlayer, but it has received some meaningful upgrades.
