And there are some out there that I know of that are using NGU very high to upscale 1080p -> 4K.Just as an update to the problem I was experiencing last week with dropped frames on a 1080ti; I managed to resolve the issue by unchecking the banding and de-ringing options for 4k. It's unnecessary stress on 4k image as they tend not to have ringing. I had to read Warner's guide again which told me this.
Try downloading MSI Afterburner and resetting the clocks on your GPU to the defaults. And then maybe try a slight overclock. The GPU doesn't seem to be performing properly. Don't do this until you test with another media player to rule out DSPlayer.
As for your rules, I don't think "other" is a legal value. It might work if you leave this blank or perhaps (AR!=16:9). A 1.85:1 movie should qualify as 16:9.
As for the profiles to switch between NGU high and low based on aspect ratio, this doesn't work for movies in 2.85:1 (they aren't acknowledged as 16:9). Only actual 16:9 shots i.e. imax shots) switch between the profiles.
I even tried to adjust the profile coding and replace 16:9 with 2.85:1 but this still presents the same issue. Not really a big deal as I've sorted the dropped frames issue but still a bug nonetheless.
And 60fps is still a no go on my 1080ti with my madvr settings. Surprisingly, when resetting the settings to default the problem is sorted. Still - makes me wonder what's going on but because I don't watch 60fps stuff 99.9% of the time, I'm not too fussed.
Thanks as always for your help.
