I wasnt able to get it before windows 10 1809, however I also update LAV, MADVR and AMD drivers at the same time so i'm not sure if it was WIn 10 1809 alone or a combination of these udpates.
I cant get stable 3D playback in DS without FSE though, too many frame drops.

How do you get 3d without FSE?

3D MVC is possible using FSE or FSW, just not with all players and all GPU's. MPC-HC works either way. MPC-BE only with FSW - It broke some time back. DSPlayer, I've no idea nor any other madVR + LAV players. Tested using an unaltered 1:1 iso rip with an old nVidia GPU and recent drivers and most recent Windows build 1809.

I'm using last nights nightly. What version are you using so I have some idea when things went south with it. TIA.

I found a way to end the black screen by hitting start button on mce remote. Not ideal though because most remotes don't have that

I hit stop on my remote exiting MPC-BE or Dsplayer and I get black screen, never used to happen before. I don't know that I've tried hitting stop again after that, I doubt that would work but I can try. With the start button trick, you basically hit start and it brings up the start menu, then you hit start again and it takes it away and puts you back in Kodi. I could map a button to just do start twice after stop with my current remote, but that really isn't a great solution as I'd like to use the kodi remote if I'm using kodi and there isn't a start button on there.

I love Kodi, but honestly they really need to put DSPlayer in place or something similar like jriver media center. I get the whole thing about playing on different systems but all its doing honestly is making Kodi mediocre. External players are not all that great, you have to program a remote to deal with both of them, the remotes don't work as well as a wifi remote. Multiple pieces of software to screw up etc.

The average Kodi player is not nearly as powerful as a PC. Kodi is designed for those platforms. Windows just gets hand-me-downs from the core Kodi platforms. It gets a few bonuses, but it mostly falls in line with the core design philosophy of Kodi.

And thats a major issue. At any rate I updated to the latest intel internal graphics drivers and now I can do full screen windowed 3d. Awesome!! However the thing was still black screened when I returned to Kodi which makes me think its a Kodi problem. Anyway, I changed my desktop resolution to 1280x720 figuring the change in resolution each time would stop the black screen, it did!! Problem is when going to external player, it appears to work fine, correct display rate etc. When going to ds player, it keeps switching the stupid display to 25hz instead of 23.976. Its doing external fine. Any thoughts?

ive had black screens with 3D for ages, probably very early on into windows 10, havent found a fix for this, only a workaround, pretty sure its a win 10 issue so it isnt going to get fixed, if you dont need win10 drop back to win8, MADSHI states this is still the best OS for MADVR.
