I was hoping to see a much improved player in 18 but still no 3D MVC for windows or HDR passthrough I could see, I played a HDR movie but it looked all kinds of terrible and didnt turn on the HDR mode so I'm guessing its trying to convert to SDR and doing it really really badly. it has dithering which is good I guess but nowt else apart from a load of gaming and streaming support which is borderline illegal anyway, you would thought that after trying to distance themselves from illegal pluggins they have done a bit more work on the player itself - you know, so it looks like a movie player and not an outlet for illegal activity
