I fear the end of Dsplayer usability is closing in. The TVDB Scraper is the only one that really works for me with 17.6 and with that becoming paid service and requiring a new add-on soon, I doubt it will be ported back to older Kodi versions.  I guess using some external meta data manager and local with Kodi could work, but how long until something else important stops working? 

The worst part is, there are still no alternatives that even come close. With regular Kodi video player you lose picture quality and options, with external player like MPC-BE you lose resume points and subtitle searching. Dark times ahead.
