If I understand correctly, it's not supporting it yet? When will it be available? And what players will support it? (I've been informed there won't be KODI.)"
No, you didn't understand correctly. The current 2015 Shield already supports frame rate switching and the 2017 should, baring there isn't a bug that prevents it.

You were also informed incorrectly, both Kodi and Plex already support it.

Thank you!

I'd also like to know if it still transmits DD 5.1 and DTS channels, while installing this https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Adva...+advantage between NVIDIA Shield and my H/K AVR5000 (it has no USB input).
Thanks for yours answers.

Installed just fine on my 2015 Shield.

No issues that I can see, SPMC works as it always has (perfectly!).

The Sheild Interface feels snappier than before but might be the placebo effect. Haven't messed with any settings, just tested SPMC as is.

I like it.

After the update from 3.3 to 5.0.2 on 2015 Shield, when I open the latest KODI 18 nightlies I get the following message:

Here is the log...

However, KODI works fine but this message means something.

Any clues?

MOD EDIT TO REMOVE LOG.

You are using a pre-Alpha! If you are seeing an issue, you should start a new thread about the issue or on the Bug tracker

And please do not post full logs, upload them to paste bin and post the link.

And just to be clear, the only reason that you should be using v18 of Kodi is because you want to help the Team find bugs, which at this point in development could be numerous. If you want something stable, then you should be using v16 or at the least v17.

As well, if you find a bug then starting a new thread about it will ensure that it will be more readily seen rather than having it buried in a thread were it may never get seen.

If you are willing to be a tester for v18 and report bugs you find, then you should also check out HOW-TO:Submit a bug report (wiki)

The same for me. Update was fine, SPMC works like before and I think the boot procedure is a little bit faster.

Well, just installed and almost everything is fine.
I have a problem on Kodi 17 RC3. When I start a movie (I tested only on dts-hd movies), no sound whatsoever, even if I pause it or stop it and go back again to the movie. The only way I get the sound again is, by pressing the B key on the nvidia controller when the movie is running and magically the sound is enabled. I then have to keep pressing B until I get rid of all kodi overlays... I didn't test this on SPMC...

And what happens to Audio when you Disable - Kodi - dynamic refresh rate switching ?? Wink

Krypton Settings > Video > Adjust Display Refresh Rate > OFF

Sync Playback to display should also be disabled.

My refresh rate is always OFF and no issues.
