CEC adapter needs unplug/replug when Mac Mini is running
#1
Hello,

I've a Mac Mini 2012 running Yosemite 10.10.3. I've a Samsung TV UE32D6300, and I've just bought a Pulse Eight CEC Adapter connected using the 3 cables (USB, short HDMI, HDMI) to the Mac Mini and the TV.

On the Mac , I've Kodi 14.2 installed. After booting the Mac Mini and launching kodi, it does not detect the CEC adapter. There is no peripherals in Settings->System->Input.

If I unplug the USB cable of the CEC Adpater from the Mac and replug it once, then kodi starts to see the CEC adapter, so I can use the TV remote control with no problem.

Here is what I see from the kodi.log in both situations. After boot and kodi up (no detection of CEC Adapter) :

14:40:45 T:140735183672064 NOTICE: Running database version Addons18

14:40:45 T:4508372992 NOTICE: Thread PeripBusCEC start, auto delete: false

After unplug / replug of USB cable, CEC Adapter detected :

14:31:30 T:4508356608 NOTICE: Thread PeripBusCEC start, auto delete: false

Is this a known problem ? Have I missed something ?
Thanks for any help

Answering to myself...

Got an answer from Pulse Eight Support. This is a known problem... described here https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues/3 and a workaround is provided there.

Other solution is to downgrade CEC Adapter firmware...
