So I decided I couldn't wait until Windows 10 next month and decided to perform a rebuild of my machine. So far I have not seen the issue again. Not sure what it was be it must have been triggered when I switched my graphics card.

I have a similar problem where Kodi doesn't fill the screen. I have just done a clean install of Isengard Beta and when I am in Kodi there is a black border around the entire screen. This wasn't there when I was running Helix or when I am on my windows desktop so I am not sure if it's a setting I have missed.
I am using an ATI HD6450 card and haven't changed any settings in the catalyst control centre, they are all the same as they were when I was running Helix. I have checked overscan and that is all off.
Edit - Sorted, Catalyst was resetting the overscan when kodi was started for some reason.
