Thanks for the response. the local trailers are already present in the folder.
unfortunately, there is also a trailer tag in the NFO with the youtube URL. when I try to play the trailer from the info screen, KODI goes to the internet and starts the streaming process.
I have also tried what you suggested. no change, KODI still starts streaming from net and ignores the local trailer.
short of going and removing the trailer tag from all my NFOs (currently 3,500) and rescanning all the movies back into KODI, I am not sure what to do.
I really would not like to go through this tedious process. any assistance here will be greatly appreciated.

well, this isnt a MADNOX Problem, but i checked it on my system - here is my result:

1. present movie have just a Trailer link in the nfo >>> when i play the trailer it plays the STREAM Trailer ( as it should be )

2. i add a local trailer >>> when i play the trailer in Kodi it plays the STREAM Trailer again

3. when i refresh the movie ( movieinfo ) and play the trailer again >>> Plays the LOCAL Trailer

i dont change anything in nfo
local trailer is called: movie-trailer.ext ( example - jodeldudel-trailer.mkv )

i have test one movie with a .mov trailer - and this doesnt work ! when i use a .mkv file it works like it should

Most of my trailers are .MOV. they have been scraped by Ember.
