Do you have any idea how to code the "video preview window" without consuming so much hardware power?
I have tested with various hardware and found that this option is very performance hungry on the skin.
With the standard skin, the video is played in full screen in the background (I personally don't like this, I prefer the Madnox solution) and it can also be played there with a Raspberry 4.
My guess is some of the 24 videowindow controls throughout the skin are displaying video at the same time. I can look into optimizing it but I may and likely will break something else while doing so...
Does it happen in every view or just some of them?
The problem is everywhere.
I've uploaded a few videos that illustrate the problem a bit.
@Mr. V -> I have the same problem at Madnox 2.0
If i change to the standard skin, i have no problem. But here is the video in the full background and not as a preview window.
With highend Hardware:
With Raspberry 4:
For 2.0,
The code is optimized. @Slipass, so i didn't expect it to be an issue.
Just checked on my end, When going from full screen video to a view with a video preview window there is a spike in cpu usage. The full screen video and preview controls are not shown at the same time. It seems it is just an issue with the transition from one control to the next.
Code wise, there is not much i can do to improve performance.
Are there any skins that work ok for you with a video preview window?
EDIT:@Slipass Lets move this discussion to github. There is one thing i can try (different id's for the controls). Just give me a couple of days to get back to you. If we can find a solution that might help @mikeSiLVO with Aeon madnox, but don't hold your breath.
