No one? I am trying to dig into the issue, but the internet is rather full of confusing/contradicting information on the topic.
Trying to toggle the GPU-range with
DISPLAY=:0 xrandr --output DP1 --set "Broadcast RGB" "Limited 16:235"
and
DISPLAY=:0 xrandr --output DP1 --set "Broadcast RGB" "Full"
back and forth brings a visible change in the blacks/whites of kodis menus but doesn't affect playing videos. Checked with black and white color ramps as well as with actual video content.
So it seems that the video is written out directly, not taking the way the applications do and simply being unaffected by this setting. Is that where the patch comes in?
