I am pretty sure that Gigabyte board, probably all 3 boards out there with HDMI 2.0 ports use the same chip MegaChip MCDP 2800, which is also used in Intel NUCs. So you think that won't cause any problems, or even will be the better choice over using the DP 1.2 port plus an HDMI 2.0 active adapter? Regarding the firmware update for the NUCs ports, I read about that, though I am not sure if I could simply apply that to the gigabyte onboard chip then as well ... or if a bios update is needed.
