I would not do that - please. Better let's concentrate on pumping in pause ac3 packages. On spdif only computers this would be a major feature regression as everything they would get would be Stereo Audio.

as highest priority I will fix bugs and this scenario has never been designed to work. once the missing peaces have been submitted and proven to work, passthrough can be enabled for realtime streams. as an option for spdif we could transcode in the meantime

Millhouse, if you recall, I cannot sign into Pandora when using a Millhouse build but can when using a Fritsch build. These are my Pandora settings with latest Millhouse build 1208. I removed password and user name before posting.

For now, Pandora users are stuck on #1112 until the situation with certificates is sorted out - keep an eye on PR:4442 for progress. I'll include updated certificates in new builds once they become available.

1. I have a rather long startup time after the Kodi Logo I get a couple of seconds (5) of confluence background only. This was not present in build #1201 which I tried last.

2. Passthrough playback for a movie is in sync (including skipping) until I pause. It seems the video stops but after a few milliseconds only the video plays for a few more milliseconds without sound. When I continue the sound is out of sync. I can skip to sync it again. I can also pause play pause play a few times to unsync it further.

3. Every few times I try to start/resume the movie Kodi says "working" but doies not play "Details in the log" (actually on the first try this happened, Kodi tried WOL and asked to remove it from the DB. It directly played the second try. Sadly I could not reproduce the "working" bit. Maybe I can append this later.

Starting from 23:25:

4. TV passthrough is out of sync (AC3 Stereo and AC3 5.1) in channels 1 to 5. Channel 6 using stereo is fine.

From 23:29:

5. Recording (2) ZDF did not work "PVR backend error"

Kodi was able to recover. (as in: did not crash; I was able to get to the homescreen)

After restarting the tvheadend backend. Kodi still showed the recording but froze upon starting a channel and crashed after a few minutes. Crashlog: http://sprunge.us/MBNG

Tvheadend backend runs on an unraid server. Version is 4.0.7

BTW: movie starting times are fantastic in these builds. Really great job! Blush

@Milhouse - yes #1208 works for me with pvr.hts - just you have some ghost timers on the EPG - so not a critical issue, the build can wait to the next scheduled one.

Nope - not related.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
