#1
Question
Hello. I have Kodi for Ubuntu Linux installed on my laptop and I tried to update to 15.1 though the update but it didn't work. I tried to even uninstall Kodi and reinstall it but it still didn't work. I have version 12.04 of Ubuntu and 14.2 of Kodi and want to update the Kodi to 15.1. Anyone have a idea on how to do it? Thank you.

I tried that and it still didn't let me. I've even went into Kodi and pressed the update button and no luck.

If you're not root, you will have to use sudo

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

What exactly is not clear from what wsnipex said?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thing is, there is no KodiBuntu for 12.04 and I guess an OS upgrade is necessary.

Have a look: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archiv...er=precise - so what do you find: 14.2, right - now believe whatever you want.
