Hi there guys i have recently purchased a Sumvision Cyclone X4 Android player which i got for Kodi primarily,i got the wifi working and tested it by opening a website then i went over to Kodi to fire it up,it took ages to appear on the screen then i got this warning...
"XBMC is getting MAC,waiting please!"

Can someone please help me figure this out?

Did you install Kodi yourself or was it included on the box? Did you install any add-ons?

Hi Ned,i literally opened the box,connected it up and tried to use pre-installed Kodi but it never gets past that stage,i haven't been able to install any add-ons as Kodi opens and straight away i get the warnings i included in the first post and once i clear those Kodi disappears back to the main Android screen.

I've never seen those messages pop up with normal Kodi. I would uninstall the version that came with it and use Kodi from the Google Play Store or from our download page.

I have tried today to download Kodi but the new 1.5 updates are not compatible,it seems to be a specific version which i cannot find online.
Thanks for your advice Ned,i have found a version(v14.0) which seems to work.

I have the exact same problem ! The kicker is that I downloaded the default recovery image from the sumvision website and I get this message. No clue as to whats happening !
Sumvision Cyclone X4 / non bluetooth version.

One thing I noticed was that though my box had kodi on it, the recovery image came with XBMC ! I later installed the Kodi 14.2 version (which is supposed to be the version for this box) but still get the same error.

I managed to sort this out.
I removed the existing kodi version from the box.
Downloaded the latest kodi 15.2 for the Sumvision Cyclone X4 (non bluetooth version). THis is the official kodi for this box.

Put it onto a USB stick and just install the apk.

Once I installed this version, I did not get the "Invalid MAC" and "activation failed" error messages.

There is only one official Kodi, and that comes from http://kodi.tv/download/
