I just noticed this fork on github, with the latest commit in 2019, titled "fully working". Sounds promising.

Will test it later.

The second fork is mine and works as well as YTL ever did; I'm still managing with it in day to day use. It includes the bugfixes I got Sleuteltje to merge into master in 2018 and a new feature that he let wither on the vine, and some general cleanup for sanity (collecting and settings settings in a single place) I was working on as part of a general overhaul/rewrite I was working on before I lost interest. I just this week noticed and fixed an issue that was preventing adding new channels, related to changes youtube made earlier this year.

So if anyone is still trying to limp along, you can use my fork. You will however have to edit vars.py and change the api key (the first variable in the file) to a custom one you generate yourself. But once you do that, the addon should be fully working again.
