You should update your regex to account for normal episodenumbering. That would be the actual solution here.
I don't watch Anime, so I'm not familiar with why you would even need such an override of the default Kodi behavior. If you could supply me some examples of the naming of such anime, I could look into what's so different.
I'm surprised too. The filenames look like "[HorribleSubs] Naruto Shippuuden - 443 [720p].mkv" and this is the only show not automatically detected so I added the expressions. They weren't custom made for the need though, just happened to work.
