Jarvis betas crashing on restart after bad shutdown
#1
All,
New system rebuild, Win7/64 Ultimate, 8 GB Ram, i3 processor, 250 system partition. Installed beta 3 and tried a few skins.

EDITED: At first I thought this was a Rapier issue, since the 5 times the problem happened that was the skin involved. Just edited now to confirm it does it in pretty well any skin.

If for any reason I exit the program using ALT+F4 or any other kill-process method, upon restarting I'm getting an irrecoverable Kodi crash which requires a complete un-installation and re-installation (or at least the purging of the entire %appdata% Kodi folders). The library scans itself for new files, Trakt updates status and then all that appears is the home screen background, with nothing else. Pressing any key does nothing at all, except for ESC. Pressing that brings up the Jarvis intro screen and that's where is hard-crashes. If the mouse pointer moves, mouse trails stay up; it's completely frozen at that point. The only option is to ALT+F4 and/or task manager kill, add-remove programs and remove settings. Doing a remove/reinstall without settings brings back the same thing, as does rebooting the PC and doing an in-place upgrade. So it's *something* in %appdata% that's gone stupid but I don't know what or where at this juncture.

I updated from beta 3 to beta 4 last night, re-installed and ran Confluence with no issues. Installed Rapier and it ran OK, played files normally, etc but it hung during configuration. I exited Kodi via the task manager and re-started, then the crash happened once again. 100% repeatable on my system. There is no way I can get back into any part of the Kodi interface after that point.

I'm not savvy enough to understand complex debugging but here are the last few lines from kodi.log. Everything before this looked like a normal startup, then this all happened:

Is it possible to use a command-line switch to bypass the skin or start Kodi into Safe mode without having to fully rebuild Kodi from the ground-up after each crash?
