I guess maybe I just haven't run into that issue yet - at least I've never noticed any problems with any video's I've tried to play. Is there a test video or something to illustrate the problem? I'm just curious.. I did read a few posts like this one that seem to mention this issue.

I looked at several other Android boxes too.. my thought was any generic Android box would allow Kodi to stay running all the time, either by setting a custom launcher or an app that runs in the background (which I guess is technically what FireStarter does on the FTV). But, I kept reading about firmware issues or audio issues. Also, since these devices are less popular I wondered if any device-specific issues would get fixed. Plus, a lot of these devices just don't look great in a home theater cabinet. One has ports on every side.. another has a giant wireless antenna sticking out..
Anyway, I totally agree everyone has their own needs and preference.. I just wanted to add my $.02 that the FTV might be worth a look for someone trying to figure out which device to buy.
