If you are buying an Android device these days for Kodi and for playing games, it's no contest IMHO the NVIDIA Shield is the best out there simply because it's running up to date Android Oreo and has the most powerful GPU plus comes packaged with an integrated games controller.
Be aware the HiMedia Q5Pro does not even run Kodi properly, it uses Kodi as a front end interface to the run external media player software and I believe it still has 24p playback issues.
