After doing quite a bit of reading, much of which happened to be information you've posted here, I now have a CoreELEC edition ODROID N2 w/ 16GB eMMC and a MINIX NEO A2 Lite remote w/ power button programmed to power off AND on (that one was trickier) the device. After some initial configuration, all is working well and as intended so far.

Manual .tar updating instructions for CoreELEC using SAMBA shares is here:

Then for Kodi Audio output device: select > ALSA: AML-AUGESOUND, HDMI Multi Ch PCM
Also set the Kodi Audio channels to 7.1 after doing that.
Everything will work them
I noticed your recommendation to set the Kodi Audio channels to 7.1. I currently have mine set to 2.0 after reading that recommendation on the CoreELEC forum. My current setup involves playing Blu-ray and 4K UHD .mkv lossless rips from a network share. Obviously this works fine when having the Kodi Audio channels set to 2.0 due to passthrough and my receiver playing Atmos, DTS:X, etc. correctly.
What content would require the Audio channels being set to 7.1? I ask because I have many Blu-ray .mkv rips containing 5.1/7.1 FLAC audio from several years ago that I have yet to add to my library. In order to play these files properly, would I need to install the nightly build (I'm currently running the official/stable release) and then set the Kodi Audio channels to 7.1?
I also plan on re-ripping my CD collection using Apple Lossless. I'm not sure how that comes into play since I have yet to research the best way to add music to my library and how Kodi works with that.
Thanks again.
