On windows you might have a look at "Media Companion", supported here on the forum 129134 (thread). It's not ideal, as it makes all its changes to the nfo files and you have to refresh the movies in Kodi to get it to take effect.

- I'm on Mac
_ I don't want to use NFO, as I stop everything on a MySQL database shared between several koi players. (That's one of the reason why I don't want to use "playlists" and I need to use "tags" : playlists are stored locally, while tags are stored on database).
