Do I simply launch a video file from within the "Media Center" app or is there a specific way ?

Kodi - to be honest - so far has not shown particularly good video quality in terms of definition, contrast, color depth, etc.
So I have doubts I'm not using it at its highest potentiality....
My older media player (dune hd tv-303d) so far returns a better video quality in general on 1080p files.
The way you use Kodi w/Q10 Pro is not for any video playback really... it just works as the front-end to manage your movie/TV collection, with actual playback being pushed to the native/external player. That's why you need to install the HiMedia "wrapper" to allow Kodi to do this. Just follow instructions here, and if you want to see how it looks/works, check out my Google video in post #1.
first of all thanks hdmkv
I don't seem to be able to get the "wrapper" version of the player. Tried to unistall and re-install the .apk file, launch and close kodi following the instructions, launch the wrapper, get the "Ok installed" message, re-launch kodi but still get the standard player
In the meantime I have played with some of the settings, including the engine and quality seems increased a bit...
You need to run the wrapper after installing it.
- Install wrapper.
- go into apps and run the wrapper app
- now re run kodi
