Zap2xml for ATSC in OpenELEC
(2017-09-26, 17:22)edit4ever Wrote: Yes you can try the 0.7.4-test.zip version. Just download and install from zip file in the addons section and it will update your version.

Then please let me know if it solved the login issue or not. There seems to be some changes happening at the zap2it website that might be impacting the grabber login.

Thanks!

I installed 0.7.4. Now the login and download goes fine, but xmltv generation fails. Last few lines of zap2xml.log looks like this.

Code:

Hey I have some questions, you did great work porting this project to something to run on Libreelec, I've been having issues with zap2it grabbing full channel lists and such. So I want to know if I just paid for schedules direct, and used sd4tvh, would I be able to pull all my UK + US channels and maybe Some Canadian too? Also it's way more detailed right, including episode air date? Thanks.

Thank you on the porting coment.

You can add multiple lineups to your schedules direct account, so inyour case - it is likely worth the $25/yr. It is truly a complete data set and the best part is - you can try it for free for 7 days to make sure it works the way you want. Then if you like it, just pay the $25 and your good for a year!

You can use my sd4tvh addon to manage your lineups and channels. Depending on what version of tvheadend your using, you will likely need to connect your channels to the epg source manually for the US channels, the UK channels may connect automatically. I just recently got tvh to fix the US channel epg auto mapping feature - but the current addon in LibreELEC is not using that fix yet as tvh hasn't released the update. However, we can likely get CvH at LibreELEC to provide an updated tvh addon that would include that fix so your channels would automatically be matched to the epg data.

If you're fine using the web interface for conifguring tvheadend you should have no problem setting it all up. You can also try my tvh2kodi addon if you want - this allows you to configure tvheadend from within the kodi interface instead of using the web interface.

If you have any other questions - just let me know!

Thanks this was really useful, they do have canadian channels right? That's the last set of channels I couldn't map due to lack of EPG. I just set lineups in the area where the channels I'm using are right

Glad to see the forum is back. Sounds like they had some serious issues for a bit Sad

Updt from me....Still no success for continuous, uninterrupted updates. It doesn't seem VPN has any effect. I also tried changing the download time (again) and no effect. It seems to work fairly consistently with xtra details disabled, but crashes when I re-enable them (tho, I got 1 good updt when I re-enabled xtra details a couple of days ago, but then failures since).

Did you want to review the log file(s)? If so, I can either paste them here (have not seen anyway to attach to a posting) or maybe send/PM them to you?

Cheers....

A log would definitely help...as I need to see what is causing the failure. You can paste the log on pastebin: https://pastebin.com/ and then post the link here.

Thanks!

P.S. I've started a complete rewrite from scratch for this using a simpler parsing tool - so hopefully I can have a test version in a few weeks. The current one was pieced together from a bunch of different people's code so it is often hard to track down the issues.

OK. Great! Here are 2 links...1 from .kodi/addons/script... and the other from .kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.....

Let me know if you figure something out. Thx.

Also looking forward to testing the results of your new code.

Cheers.....

Your logs show a completed download and parse. What error are you getting or what is missing in your epg? It looks like your xmltv file is being generated correctly.

Arrrrgghhh!! My bad Sad Grabbed the wrong version of the log files (Those are the current results of disabling xtra details download). That's what I get for trying to do 3 things at once. Let's try again....

(NOTE: 1st file split into 2 parts because it exceeded max amount of chars allowed on pastebin.com)

osmc/.kodi/addons/script.module.zap2xml/zap2xm.log

https://pastebin.com/A1MknYh4 (Part 1)
https://pastebin.com/V88Cz9Kn (Part 2)

osmc/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.module.zap2xml/zap2xm.log

https://pastebin.com/hh8HxU8k

These should be a bit more helpful in troubleshooting.

Thx and cheers.....

OK - if those two log parts are from the same log - then it was taking almost 30 minutes to download and parse. That means you're trying to download too many days at the same time. Since that log didn't look like it reached the end or showed a crash - I'm guessing your system rebooted. It probably ran out of memory.

Try setting up 3 days of downloads (with xdetails on) - then if that completes - add two more days back in each run until you get to the 14 days. Once you reach 14 days, you'll be able to leave it set taht way as it will only need to download each new set of 12 hours of data after that if you have the cron setup in tvheadend (which is on by default).

Let me know if it works that way for you.

Appreciate you analyzing the log files.

If it's some kind of "time out" issue, then that's something that started not too long ago, maybe the website, maybe something related to my last sys crash. From the start, downloading 14 days w/xtra details had not been a problem.

I will follow your suggestions and see what happens. Either it will work, or there's something else going on Sad I'll keep you posted.

Thx and cheers.....

On the bright side - I've got the base of my new simple version built and will begin setting it up as a kodi addon later this week. Then I may put up a test before adding the xtra details function. :-)

Quick Update....

Set to 3 days, xtra details enabled. Ran last night and failed. A number of the same (as has been happening) errors appeared throughout the (.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script...) log file:

Getting: http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlistings/...1498930072
:Function: getURL :Line: 225

:Function: getURL :Line: 228
error<class 'mechanize._response.httperror_seek_wrapper'>
[D] Failed to download: EP011498930072

In the (.kodi/addons/script....) log file the same/similar set of errors occurred:

httperror_seek_wrapper: HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error (3 retries and then the time out msg).

I think I am very ready to try out the new code...when you're ready for some testing....

On a somewhat related note....I messed around with the TVHeadEnd addon and discovered if I tried to change EPG grabber cron time the change didn't show up when I accessed TVHeadEnd thru its web interface. I also think I remember going back in thru the addon and it also didn't show the change had taken. It was only a couple of moments while I was working on something else (and I know what can happen when I try to multitask too many things Sad You might want to check it out. I'll do some more testing on my end and confirm or deny this "rumor"....I suppose it could be my user issue or possibly oddly related to whatever sys issue(s) might be harassing me at this point Sad

Thx and cheers....
