v15 Naming Conventions - TV Shows

Question
I have just downloaded the Blueray version of ST TNG and am not able to get Kodi to correctly name the very 1st episode (Encounter at Farpoint)

The video file is ionb MKV format

I have tried the following episode namingh conventions - without success

1. S01E01 - S01E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
2. S01E01-S01E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
3. S01E01 - E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
4. S01E01-E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
5. S01E01-02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
6. S01E01_S01E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
7. S01E01_E02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv
8. S01E01_02 - Encounter at Farpoint.mkv

I *HAVE* read the Wiki hence my multiple versions, but they all afin

Which naming convention should I use ?

I also tried to post this under the General Support forum but my account is blocked for some reason.

Yeah, two part jobbie. This is what works for me

S01E01E02.StarTrek.TNG.Encounter.at.Farpoint.mkv

I also have a local .nfo file (named the same) which you can copy/paste to get the info into Kodi.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

Downloaded? Doesn't sound desperately legal!

It's not important where the local stuff comes from...even ripping is a grey zone and noone cares if you bought the disc or not (at least here in germany). The only problem are those addons and he is not talking about them.

Well, he stated that he had downloaded a BluRay. We can't have double standards. If we don't allow discussion of plugins that allow pirated content, we should apply the same standards for discussion of downloads.

We don´t discuss the download or the playback, we discuss the naming convention and for this the specific usage of Kodi.

Using some 3rd party banned addons is completely different from playing back a local video (no matter where it comes from). As the usage of this addon depends on the addon itself and not on Kodi. And he doesn´t have issues with the playback (which migh depend on Kodi). If he would have issues with the playback of this file, and we might sort the video out being the culprit (via logfile), then I would tell him not to download crappy shit. For this topic it´s "Hey I have a file and I don´t know how to name it". That´s different from 3rd party addons.

The same is for ppl asking "I have a TV show on my NAS and have problems with the namings". I wouldn´t ask where the content comes from, as both (ripping and downloading) is illegal.

And now, and please take no offense, let´s stay at topic. If you have problems with the forum rules or think something should be changed for them, create a new thread and let´s discuss those things there.

Greetings
