Solved Can't get OpenElec+KODI to power down ??

Complete System Specs in Signature

RPiB2 running 2 day old fresh install of OpenElec with Kodi 15.2
Working fine except that when I press the OFF icon on the home screen
  • Kodi seems to quit - the screen goes black
  • then I get the KODI 15.2 splash screen
  • then I get a pop-up PVR Manager is starting up

So my problems are two-fold:
A. I can't get Kodi to exit
B. I have all the settings for TV & LiveTV turned off / disabled yet I get this pop-up.

I only use Kodi for music [feed the RPi output into my home intercom]

Any tips or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Jim

Are you sure you're trying to power off the system and not just exit Kodi? Exiting Kodi will AFAIK just restart it on your platform.

Thumbs Up
Yes on TWO points you make:
a) I was trying to shut-down smoothly before cutting power to the RaspberryPi adapter each night [just to conserve energy].
b) The KODI restart is the symptom - and your explanation makes perfect sense. When I had the RPi loaded with the Raspian OS and Kodi, then shutting down Kodi would return me to the OS, and I could then shut that down. I guess the OpenElec OS doesn't allow you to get down to that level.

I'll probably just cut the power to the RPi adapter each night - I doubt it will do much harm since everything is solid-state.

Thanks NEGGE for the reply.
