I've got a second xbox hooked up to a Buffalo wireless bridge and it works well for IPlayer and other more bandwidth intensive media. That's at 54Mbps and I only start to get pauses when playing remote DVDs. Being wireless it depends on course on a fair few factors, distance, walls, interferance, etc

excellent that your running that kind of setup. i was worried it would 'stutter' somewhat... and that i'd have to buy some pringles, and go Cantenna styli ! ;-)

Where did you get the build? and can you provide the first few lines of the xbmc.log which show build info in detail.

Try the latest version 2009-05-13 at http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-iplayerv2/ . I have updated the plugin so "Media Info" is properly displayed during video playback.

Dink, you seem to be in contact with Frosty. Have you heard anything regarding a TVcatchup plugin, apparently his friend owns it and he was discussing making it accessible. Thought the plugin would be right up your street!

Hi again, I'm using xbox with a uk proxy that works, enabling me to play last.fm from sweden, which i cannot without the proxy.
i use the the 12/5/09 iplayer plugin version, but when i browse down thru the directories and try to play an episode, i get a "error fetching media info".
any ideas? is it still a proxy issue or something else?

Yup - the media info is the first point of geo-ip locking

Man, iplayers compression is the dogs! I was watching the highest-quality SD stream of The Apprentice last night and you could see pretty much no compression artefacts at all. It was like a proper broadcast, even the mkv HD downloads I get have distracting artefacts. Either that I was engrossed in the show a lot Big Grin

A friend installed XBMC for me in January and I updated it via the T3CH updater in, I think, February or March.

is there any solution? should i just keep on trying different proxies until one works? i have tried more than ten, some of which worked for iplayer on the pc, but never on the xbox.

I don't know I'm afraid. I live in the UK so I don't use proxies.

From the log the build is "Built on Feb 18 2009" so I would suggest updating to the latest greatest. That will deal with the Settings issue.
