@p750mmx try the latest version of Amazon Prime Video (article in Brazilian Portuguese):

Have you used that APK? I would like to know it doesn't have malware or something in it.
I"v tested all the APK's I could find, including what it says on that page, and non is stable on my 8.1 ATV version. Sometimes it works one time after first installation but when restarting the app after that, screen freezes right after starting a video, and that's it.

@shblamy the S version of the Mi Box doesn't support Atmos as is. The sound can be heard, but it's not true Atmos. DD+ is what one can get with Netflix.

I'm on the verge of buying the Mi Box S, but have some questions which i find contradicting info online.

1. Does Netflix work in 4k? - I presume it does.
2. Does Atmos work in Netflix? - This is what i'm really after.

I see Android 9 was realeased, so I'm not sure if that took care of these.
I own the non-S model but I am pretty sure that:
1) Yes
2) Kinda, if you use the Netflix Addon for Kodi and run Netflix thru Kodi. Otherwise no mi box model is able to play atmos with netflix.

I currently have a Minix U9-H running CoreElec(Kodi v18.x) with the Netflix add-on. I get Atmos, but not 4k. This is my problem. I have no issue with running NF through Kodi, but the device MUST be able to play 4K+Atmos.

Hi guys!

I'm trying with my MiBox 3 (with a uGreen USB2 > ethernet adapter) to read this file with Kodi but I have some frame skipping. Is it possible to read this kind of file (Blu-ray REMUX 4K HDR with 59.94fps) with Kodi on a MiBox 3 ?

Sorry to say but you bought the wrong Ugreen adapter.

86Mbps Rip combined with lossless HD audio when streamed across a home Network is simply too much data for a regular 100Mbit adapter to cope with. It’s the spikes in variable bitrate streaming that cause the issue.

You need a USB3 > Gigabit LAN (1000M) adapter.
Even then I would rather use a Gigabit LAN equipped Ugoos X3 Cube or ODROID C4 running CoreELEC Kodi for 4K HDR Bluray Rips playback. CE Kodi will also handle a bunch more varied video vs Android Kodi on a Mi Box.

Thanks a lot for your response!

Unfotunately MiBox 3 only gots USB 2 ports...I don't think that it will handle a USB3 > Gigabit LAN (1000M) adapter... Sad

That's not the case. A USB 3 Gigabit adaptor will work in a USB 2 port and deliver ~300Mbs Ethernet speeds. It won't deliver full Gigabit speeds but will massively outperform a 100Mbs USB 2 adaptor, and should be more than enough for UHD BD rips.

That's why we recommend USB 3 Gigabit adaptors for USB 2 devices like MiBox, FireTV Sticks etc., rather than USB 2 100Mbs adaptors.

My bad, I double checked my adapter and this is the Ugreen USB 3 Version! So it may be the MiBox 3 which can't handle this file?

Thanks again for your help.

And the Mi Box S also can't handle this media, even when the network speed goes up to 300Mbit with a USB adapter. It is just to much for the little box.
This media (that I also tested as UHD100), is quite exceptional. There is a lot of HEVC media that goes well with this box, but that is not one of them Wink

Edit: @Messatsu I should have quoted you...

Thank you! Indeed, this is an exceptionnal movie (Gemini Man) with a 59.94 FPS HEVC 4k HDR setup needed.

Do you think that The Shield would be a solution?

Maybe it is, but I don't have one, so I can't tell Wink

While I try go through 197 pages of the thread, quick question:
The updated OP says that ATMOS now works with netflix - is that indeed the case ?
Is there Anything special that needs to be done other than connecting  it to a DD+ AVR with ATMOS ?

I have had some struggles getting bitstreaming working in Kodi and Emby with a Mi Box S. I have had a couple Shields that never gave me trouble.

Anything special I need to do? I did the usual stuff within Kodi, the android audio settings are pretty lackluster, I assume auto should be best?

Weird behavior in Emby as well where DTS was sent out as DD, thinking the device was reporting that it didn't support DTS even though I am hooked
up to a Denon X3500.

Afaik Netflix + Atmos only works with Kodi + Netflix Add-on
So just be aware that the atmos does not work with the build-in Netflix app.

I am trying to troubleshoot my 5Ghz wifi connection and Mi box (2016 model). Could someone remind me what is roughly the maximum speed I should be able to transfer stuff in LAN with Mi Box and 5Ghz Wifi?
Atm I am not really getting much more then 50Mbs (6ish MB/s). I recall faintly that somewhere around in the Oreo update-fiasco Wifi was capped at 60Mbs but wasn't that fixed?
Was there some magical wifi channel setting for Mi Box?

So this is a pre Mi Box S model? https://www.mi.com/global/mibox/#specs

If yes, it's supports Wifi AC and should get speeds way above 100Mbit, if your wifi server (router/modem) would give the Mi a decent Wifi signal. Does it, do you have a decent 5Ghz/AC wifi signal?
I use a Tri-band router that gives the Mi speeds above 100Mbit (~130-2xxMbit << depending on the distance from my router), when using it on the same floor as my router (hallway > living room).

You could use Analiti and check the wifi channels that give the best connection in your situation.
