I seem to have this problem with the FireTV 4K Stick. The UI resolution is 3840x2160, but pictures appear to be displayed at a lower resolution. Why?

I see now that technology companies have launched with image quality of up to 8K, while many other hardware and software of the companies do not catch up so the image quality when viewed is not as expected, and currently at Kodi does not support displaying images in your original 4K.

I run Kodi 18.4 on 4K TV Sony KD55-XE8596 with Android 8.0.
All my photos are shown in FullHD resolution only.
In System-settings is only 1920x1080 resolution available for the Kodi GUI.
Is there any way to show pictures in 4K resolution?
I read (2017 forum), may be, in the future will Kodi switch to 4K resolution for displaying photos (as it already does during video playback).
I tried to add resolutions in guisettings.xml and in advancedsettings.xml to switch the whole Kodi GUI to 4K, but with no success.
