When you clean library or path , subs normally remain there new ones are named as original and originals have _ORIGINAL added at the end . Now you have the option to delete the original subtitles so only cleaned ones remain.

would really appreciate if the author might consider releasing the script outside of kodi for users to use along side something like flexget and subliminal

The script can be edited, it is open; but I am afraid integrating it with such systems would be practically impossible since it is written in Python and who knows what these apps support....

Even making it a standalone app would be too much work imho...

python is actually perfect, both flexget and subliminal are written in python, and flexget is heavily/actively developed by the community
