Another user sent me a PM but I can't respond because I am a new member. Could a mod unlock my PM privileges please?

For what reason does this need to happen in a private message?

The person who pm'd me did so with very specific info and I want to find out more, that's all. I thought replying on a public board would clog it up.

They're unlikely to manually activate it early unless there is a pressing reason.

The board is public because that provides help for future users.
