hello please can you help me
i have a MX tv box and i`ts using kodi 14 helix is they any way i can update it to kodi 16.1 please thank you Paul

When you say "I have MX box" that tells us nothing. There is lot of chinese MX (MXQ, MXIII, MXV,...) boxes on the market so no one can even guess what box do you actually have and no one can tell you for sure can you update Kodi or not.
Probably you can, but the best (safest) way is to back up your current settings and try to update through Play Store and see what will happen.
If something goes wrong you can always find APK for Helix, install it and restore your settings from backup.
