SDA, SDB, SDC, SDD etc..

Hi,
I have HiMedia Q10 Pro and I have a problem.
I'm using Kodi (v16.1 Jarvis) on the device.
I 've attached 3 external disks to the device (with an internal HDD too).
Every time I start the machine and startup Kodi, the letters assigned to these attached USB drive's change : SDA, SDB, SDC, SDE etc..)
Is it a problem from OS (Linux), or from Android version (mine is Android 5.1), or firmware (mine is 1.0.8-FUTEKO-EN. HMD-1.0.8 2016-10-12.193826)
If you help by chance, I will be very happy.
Thanks.

mount by uuid is the solution on the linux side. it's basically random which disk shows up first on the bus, and unless specified that's the order used.

Thanks for your reply.
I will wait for the new Android (N) Nougat Stable Version for HiMedia Q10 Pro (will be release tomorrow..). Maybe it can help..
Regards.

Digging up this old thread... is there a solution for this on Android TV? I have a Philips smart tv - each time it boots, it assigns different letters to the external USB drive. How can I get it to be consistent so that I can use an external drive as my media library?

Does the external USB drive have a disk name/label? What disk format is the drive in? NTFS, EXT4, something else?
